this is me
Hey there!
Thanks for checking out my homepage!
I hope you've been enjoying it so far.
Allow me to introduce myself:
I'm Cynthia Collins, currently working as a character animator at Digital Domain in Vancouver. Originally from Germany, I have a deep passion for animation, painting, art, and crafting. In 2017, I made the decision to combine my love for nature with my career in animation, which led me to the beautiful city of Vancouver. But let's start from the beginning:
After high school, I knew I wanted to bring together my love for art, drawing, and movies in the captivating world of animation.
That's why I enrolled at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Ludwigsburg, Germany.
During my second year at the academy, I had the incredible opportunity to work on the film "Zing," which received numerous awards, nominations, and honorable mentions in over 50 festivals. It was even recognized by the German film and media review as "especially valuable."
Following my third year at the academy, I decided to take a year off and participate in an exchange program with Gobelins l'école de l'image, a renowned animation school in France.
Right after that, I was selected for the First Step Animation Internship program at MPC London, where I worked as an animation intern for two months on the project "Maleficent." It was an amazing experience.
During my diploma year, I had the privilege of being the lead animator on the project "Skâl," where I led a team of six animators. After completing my diploma, I joined Framestore in London, which turned out to be an incredible start of my career. I worked on the movie "Mowgli," which was a wonderful experience.
When the project was put on hold I chose to get some experience in advertising and went to MPC advertising. But living in London is a very though challenge. I missed having the nature close by.
Lucky enough, I got contacted by Method, Vancouver Canada. I always wanted to live in Vancouver! So here I am. And sure enough within a blink of an eye 7 years have passed. I met some incredibly talented and wonderful people. I'm lucky enough to work in an industry with creative minds and passionate people. Its been a challenging journey so far.
The last 2 and a half years I have been working on the movie "across the spiderverse " at Sony pictures Imageworks which has been really challenging to the whole team. As we are ail aware the film industry carries some challenges with it and I had to bid farewell to Sony. Luckily my Digital Domain family has welcomed me back with open arms and that's where I currently am.
I hope this gives you a better understanding of my journey and passion for animation. Feel free to explore the rest of my homepage and reach out if you have any questions. Take care!
